Home Decor on a Different Level

Sphere: Related Content

Old-fashioned Chinese systems believed in rearranging furniture and home decors as utilizing both laws of heaven and earth. This process is known as “Feng shui”. They consider it the art of harmonizing a person’s personality and character with their own home. Thus, they say that Feng shui will make a person’s life better by receiving positive flow of energy or what they call “Qi” or “Chi”.

As it is based on good values and ideology, they say that the art of Feng Shui will help improve specific phases of life. This is through decorating a home with proper arrangement of furniture and home décor (of course) thus, calling it “The Art of Placement”. This way, it is said that you are inviting positive energy and vigor that can affect not only how you carry yourself but also the whole world you live in generally. Feng Shui is said to help aspects in life such as Happiness, Love, Money, and Health. But how is it really done? What are the principles to follow to achieve Qi?

Feng Shui doesn’t require certain religion or beliefs for it to work. It just needs the right intentions and dedication. It is more symbolic in the modern days than in the ancient times whereas they used complicated analytical reasoning and proper directions. It considers mostly the basic things that you probably don’t notice but is in front of you. Say you are having problems in job search. And probably the main door of your house is squeaking or is not opening properly. Consider fixing it, that way it would symbolically open doors for future opportunities. And thus, it is like inviting some Qi in your home.

Say you are having problems with your social life; that you have vices, habits, obsessions or even trivial beliefs that might set off your emotions by feeling ashamed. It is a natural instinct for you to push people away and hide the things that you are embarrassed about. If you are a type of person that is disorganized or enjoys seeing the mess in your living room, and you have this problem, well you better start cleaning. Clutter may just symbolize a messy and unhappy life. Not only do you improve the quality and hygiene of your home, cleaning up might mean trying to fix your personal life as well.

For others, designing a home is not just only to impress friends or colleagues on how well you choose home decors. It is also, in a way, self motivating and uplifting. For many years, Ancient Chinese believed that doing the art of Feng Shui will help give you enriched communal significance and improve your lifestyle. But whether you choose to believe in the mastery of Feng Shui or not, the important thing to a great life is to stay positive at all times. Who would want to visit a nice decorated home with an occupant that has the heart of Cruella De Ville?

Feng Shui Symbols

Sphere: Related Content

Colors, elements and symbols play a very important role in Traditional Feng Shui. Chinese symbols, such as wind chimes, three-legged toads and tortoises, are vital tools that help achieve harmony and balance inside the home. Such symbols invite enlightenment and a good environmental aura.

It is important that the symbols used during the process are highly sentimental; doesn’t really matter if they are traditional Chinese symbols. Not all people can afford statues and fountains. Or in some cases, using plants or animals for Feng Shui is not possible due to home-rental agreement issues. Symbolisms can be simple candles, photographs, or even furniture and decor; as long as they portray personal value. Symbols that have stronger association or a certain bond with a person work better and are more effective and compelling. Although this is so, the positioning and certain number of symbols placed in a home is still important and needs to be highly considered.

There are a lot of things that people would want to change in their lives; aspects that we may want to amend, or in Feng Shui terms, cure. Each of these facets uses different symbols to attract positive energy flow. In example, in terms of good luck and protection, traditional Feng Shui uses the symbols dragon, tortoise and a mystic knot. It is said that these symbols will bring you not only protection but also good fortune and a full life. Whether these symbols are on something you wear like a necklace or a home décor like a figurine, it’s completely up to you.

The symbol dragon does not only work in the aspect of protection and luck, but also, when correlated with a phoenix symbol, cures Love and Relationship dilemmas. Ever heard of the saying “it takes two to tango”? Well in Feng Shui, it is said that the Love aspect is best with partnered symbols. It is because an individual item may signify a lonely unmarried or solitary life. So if you are having Love issues, use paired symbols; mandarin ducks, matching candles, or even a crystal lotus that denotes romance.

As with problems with Wealth and Prosperity, symbols such as a gold Arowana, a Koi fish, Chinese coins and three-legged toads are very effective. A lot of people, especially with the economic crisis this country is experiencing right now, are hoping for financial stability. Traditionally, live bamboo plants or water fountains that are placed in certain areas of the house also invite money opportunities.

Feng Shui symbols don’t necessarily need to be conventional Chinese illustrations or images. In the modern days, people use similar representations other than traditional Chinese figurines or symbols. As long as the symbols used attract a certain energy that allows good emotional response, they can be used in the process. And since the mastery of Feng Shui works based on intentions and objectives, the use of substitute symbols, such as personal belongings and or photographs, can also attract positive energy flow as long as it is an object that one can relate to. This is an advantage to people of different cultures, especially those that are not comfortable using traditional Chinese objects.

The Feng Shui Garage Organizer

Sphere: Related Content
You probably looked at the title and thought to yourself, "what does a garage organizer and feng shui have to do with each other?" Believe it or not, there is actually quite a nice fit between the two. A person acting as the organizer of a useful space must first recognize that feng shui has a complex and complicated cultural history going back thousands of years, and that sometimes the new age aspect of feng shui is just going to have to be good enough for their purpose.

Feng Shui is a sort of hybrid between the art and science of human interaction with things that surround them. Feng shui is interested in how to best balance those two things. Your average garage organizer home owner may not even realize that they are in fact creating, or destroying, a feng shui environment in their garage by what they do there. Clutter, for example, is an obvious antithesis of feng shui. Where things are placed matter, as do the colors used to decorate the environment.

At first flush, a study of feng shui exposes us to notions of mystical eastern enigmas. If studied casually, we may come to believe that all we have to do is just surround ourselves with certain items (things like massive fans on the wall, frogs with coins in their mouths, certain color combinations, or eastern figurines) that our lives will somehow be imbued with everything we need to be healthy, wealthy, wise, well organized, and at peace. Unfortunately, for the garage organizer, there is no magical one-size-fits-all solution offered by feng shui. In fact, outside of a rigorous study of ancient chinese texts and traditions, the best we can do is try to apply some of the basic notions of feng shui to our garage spaces.

Feng Shui teaches that the whole world we live in can be separated into five kinds of elements: earth, water, metal, fire, and wood. Each one is associated with a certain color and meaning that best suits the properties and nature of those elements, and the associated environment where they are used. A person trying to organize a garage should take these things into consideration. It is not enough, for example, to just determine that wood or metal cabinets in the garage is best. One must also learn to associate the appropriate feng shui color to use on that particular element, in that specific place. Would a metal cabinet in the garage be best painted white, or pink? If wood shelves are installed, should they be painted orange or green? How do these things interact with the other elements in the space. The nature and color of the concrete floor may indicate to the mind stability and reliability, but if you paint it a nice pastel color you will certainly get a different feeling. The idea of feng shui, as applied by the garage organizer, can also be applied to shapes, in an effort to harmonize a space. One would not, for example, create a triangle shaped storage basket when a rectangle would be better.

Remember, classic feng shui is principle-based, and that the modern American version sometimes merely suggests a quick fix approach. For many, that is good enough. Just set up a water fountain, decorate with some bamboo and viola, you have a magically peaceful place. However, to truly apply feng shui to a garage, a garage organizer must dedicate to a study of the authentic feng shui principles.

Accomplished Feng Shui Expert and Interior Designer, Marie Burgos of Manoblue Design, is leading an exclusive Feng Shui presentation as part of a special women's event called "Be Wild Woman's Valentine" hosted by Kiana Love of Kakini Health. The presentation will be held at Kakini Health, 155 West 72nd Street, on February 12, 2009, at 7pm. Participants will learn how Feng Shui can benefit the area of love and relationship.

Whether one is looking for Mr. or Ms. Right or one already has this person in his/her life today, one wants to make it special and long lasting.

Marie Burgos explains how to enhance your relationship or attract love to your life by setting up your bedroom with the help of Feng Shui. She will make sure everyone is ready for this special relationship!

Here are Marie's 9 special tips to Feng Shui your bedroom to enhance this special partnership.

1) Clean up your bedroom - Clutter is a sure sign that chi (energy) is stuck, so roll up your sleeves and clean the place up if you want to jump-start your love life.
2) Position your bed harmoniously - The rule of thumb for proper bed position is to place it on a solid wall, diagonal from the door, allowing full view of the room and its entry while lying in bed.
3) Add a Solid Headboard to Your Bed - A headboard represents support, and energetically brings both sides of the bed together, creating harmonious union for partners.
4) Display Romantic Artwork - Surround yourselves with art that calls forth a feeling of love and romance with each other. Be careful of art that has a single man or single woman pictured in it, or one that has three or more people in it.
5) Think pink, peach, Red and white - Pink and white are the colors of relationship. You can use them for your bed sheets, your undergarments, pillows, accents. Peach is the color of new love. If you want to attract a new partner, use peach in your bedroom. Red represents hot passion.
6) Remove old relationship energy - Go through your home--especially your bedroom--and remove anything that reminds you of past failed relationships.
7) Get things in pairs - Set up a nightstand on both sides of your bed, to accommodate the needs of your partner. Include lamps. And get things in pairs: pillows, candles...
8) Open the door to love- Make sure both the front door of your home and the door to your bedroom open easily and completely.
9) Clarify your intention - Compose a list of the qualities of your ideal soul mate on a red page.

Feng Shui For Motel Bedrooms

Sphere: Related Content
Are there any dangers or problems in using Motel or Hotel beds ? The obvious might be bed bugs as there is much literature on this today however the better class motel/ hotel is not likely to have this problem. Then again the bed might be just too hard or too small or too something but this is not the issue in Feng Shui. In Feng Shui bedrooms we aim to create a positive flow of 'Chi' and as you sleep for your health and fortune

In Feng Shui the word 'Chi' describes the energy of the universe which is always flowing However as in a home it can be blocked or negative which can damage your health and business fortune even more so is it likely in the Motel or Hotel bedroom. As the traveller uses many bedrooms he or she is subject to a poor flow of chi or a negative flow which

Colors in any bedroom are most significant. They can create positive or negative energy flow according to their choice and mix. Colors which must be avoided in a bedroom are red and purple while pastel colors and neutral colors will do no harm.

There are some ideal colors and they are pastel light leaf green and pastel light blue. Any room with these colors will create a beautiful flow of 'Chi' which will highly benefit you as you sleep. Another color is the color of paradise so called and that is lavender pink. Its not likely you will get your ideal choice in a motel room but choose it if they are available.

When you enter that motel for overnight stay or a holiday flat for that yearly break from work you should always check out the lie of the land as to where the bed is positioned for best Feng Shui energy flow.

Avoid using a room where the bed is facing a mirror and your image is viewable. The mirror will reflect and expand the negative energy in you and hinder physical recovery which sleep is meant to bring. And equally important don't ever sleep in a bed with the foot of the bed facing the door. This is known as the 'coffin position' and the term is self-explanatory.

For a business person who travels and sleeps in many different bedrooms there may a tendency to leave papers and documents and a satchel sort of scattered around the room after reading in preparation for the next day. In doing so you have created a clutter which can cause the energy of chi to be distorted and in turn effect your sleep pattern as well as your business arrangements for the next day.

For the traveller using various motel rooms each week why not carry some essential oils ? These oils when applied in the room will create a harmony and balance of the energy of the room giving you good sleep and recovery for the next day. The two best oils for the room are Lavender and Rose oil.

I once stayed in motel room where I felt discomfort through the night. The room seemed heavy and even aggressive in a strange way. Later I discovered that in that room, some weeks earlier, a crime of violence had been committed. I knew immediately that I was picking up the negative energy of that violence just like a radio picks up music . I have always used a blessing prayer for rooms which are not mine. The 'Blessing Prayer" can be as follows - "Universe of energy and love I now ask that this room be cleansed of all previous harmful or hurtful acts that have been committed here. I ask that this room be blessed with your divine 'chi' light and energy for health and healing"

The market is so saturated with feng shui programs that one has to be careful when selecting the right program that will help one on the journey to becoming such a consultant.

The key is to do a through research of what all is available. According to Nancy Santopietro who has been a practicing feng shui consultant for fourteen years, she encourages her students to "base their decision on how they "feel" on a gut level, then ask for spiritual guidance on which program will ultimately serve their path." This is good advice that should be followed when selecting a program.

The main thing to remember when becoming a feng shui consultant is that research is the key to becoming a good feng shui consultant. As this chinese philosophy evolves, the process of applying the age-old principles to modern life becomes more and more sophisticated.

Tips For Living Room Feng Shui

Living room feng shui is one of the best ways to start the process of fine tuning the home to reflect the ancient philosophy. No other room is the house gives an individual more feng shui potential than the dining room.

Neo Feng Shui vs Feng shui

Sphere: Related Content
The purpose / aim of Feng Shui / Neo Feng Shui is to create harmony between the surroundings and the people and get the benefits from the surroundings, so that they will work for you and not against you.

Feng Shui is an old science, which the Chinese people described several thousand years ago. They observed, how the energies around us in the nature and in our living areas affected us positively and negatively and they learned how yin and yang, the compass directions in relation to the living areas and the five elements (fire, earth, metal, water and wood) also have a strong effect on our lives. They divided the living area into forcefields (the Bagua map) and used many symbols and things, when they established/decorated a living area according to the principles of Feng Shui.

There exists many ways/trends within Feng Shui, and these can in principle be divided into two schools - an eastern one and a western one.

In the eastern school (called the classic or traditional Feng Shui) the remedies are e.g. Chinese astrology, mystics, the physical placement of the living area and talismans/fortune animals e.g. dragons and 3 legged frogs. In the western school there is a higher focus on, how people are affected by the surroundings and the choice of colours, lights, materials and shapes.

Neo Feng Shui a Danish developed life- and decorating philosophy has taken the essence from the old wisdom and removed all layers of religious belief, superstition, cultural influence and traditions and given us a philosophy adapted to the twenty first century.

Neo Feng Shui and Feng Shui are to understand the connection between the physical structures and how we flourish and develop. With Neo Feng Shui you yourself can influence your life, your wellbeing and your development in an active way. By adjusting the things that influences you in a room, it is possible to use the environments in a conscious way, so that you will be supported in your personal development and work for the desired outer and inner changes.

Neo Feng Shui is not about fashion, but is about creating wellbeing, development and success in your home or in your business. All suggestions and solutions that are given in a Konsultation are individual, because we all are on different levels of developments and we have different needs and wishes in life.

Feng Shui Tips for your RV

Sphere: Related Content
It is believed that feng shui utilizes the natural laws of the universe to help you achieve your goal with the help of positive chi flow. In laymans terms, its the art of arranging furniture in order for one to receive good luck. The principles of this art can not only benefit you in your home furniture, but it can be applied as well when choosing and arranging RV furniture.

Here are some basics which can be applied right away:

- Clear up clutter from your RV. Get rid off all the things you don't need nor love. You want positive chi to move freely.

- Put your seats at right angles to each other. This will also make it more conducive for conversations amongst family.

- Make sure that the coaches and the bed does not face away from the entrance.

- Your bed should not be facing a mirror. In fact, there should be no mirror in the places that you are found off. It is said that this will bring about bad luck and third parties into your relationship.

- The stove in your kitchen area should not be across the refrigerator or sink. The practical reason is that you don't want heat to go in your refrigerator as it will consume more electricity. The feng shui reason is that you don't want the elements of fire and water to clash.

- Make sure that you put in as much natural light and air as possible. You wan't to welcome fresh positive chi into your RV.

- Place your bed against a solid wall.

- If you have a pet turtle. Do not bring him along.

- Pick your parking spot wisely. Stay away from electrical poles as the magnetic fields will disrupt your sleep.

- Place the television set in the living room area instead of the bedroom. I know that this is a hard habit to break. If you must place it in your bedroom, cover it with a plastic (not cloth) table cover when you are not using it.

There are more feng shui concepts that you can apply when you are arranging your RV furniture. There are concepts like object and color placement (where you will make use of a feng shui star chart), there are color coordination principles you can follow, and so on and so forth. If you are seriously want to apply some advance concepts, there are multiple sources online and books on the subject. You can also consult a feng shui master or an interior designer.

Feng Shui your Web Site

Sphere: Related Content
Less is Good

This relates to the fact that more free space (on a web page) would allow positive energy or ch’i to flow around which then in turn would create a positive environment. Negative ch’i is obtained when the energy stagnates in one area.

To apply this to a page, perhaps more curves could be introduced rather than long straight lines, open spaces with perhaps more use of paragraphs in content and padding around tables.

Navigational links to other pages should be clear, allowing positive energy to flow through the whole site.

Colours

Clean crisp colours which are bold will attract a user’s attention and should be used around the web page as this helps ch’i to flow. Dark colours or white text on a black background is a definite no no. It’s what we’ve been taught at a young age, inbuilt within our subconscious and for good reason! Dark colours attract negative energy which could result in users staying on the site for a few moments or hastily rushing through the pages.

Calm soothing colours such as blue or white are recommended for large areas of space, whilst colours such as red and orange are regarded as being positive.

Yin and Yang

The balance of Yin and Yang is an important part of Feng Shui studies and can be defined as two opposites such as Male and Female, Young and Old, Inside and Outside etc.,.

So using an example of a web site which is split into two columns and there’s content text in one column and graphics in another, perhaps the ideal balance would be to swap some graphics into the text section and likewise some content into the graphics section. It’s all about balance.

Other Tips

Implement Google Analytics to check where your visitors are going, where they are clicking and which pages they are leaving from. If applying Feng Shui to your site has helped, I'd love to find out.

Tips When Selecting Your Shui Consultant

Sphere: Related Content
A shui consultant can help a person on the way to a complete and happy feng shui life. Since feng shui is a complicated idea to understand, such a consultant will be needed in order to help a person decide what the best approach to the philosophy of feng shui may be.

The problem may occur though when having to actually choose a consultant of this chinese philosophy . So many options are available in today's culture that finding just the right fit may be a tougher choice than originally thought.

The first thing to do when choosing a good feng shui consultant is to research. This is not something to take lightly. Just as a person would not want a second rate plumber, they would not want to invest in a second rate one.

In order to become familiar with the field of feng shui, one should start their research either in the library or the internet. After that an individual should clarify their expectations of what is needed from such a consultant.

Then, a look at the various schools can be helpful in finding a good feng shui guide. Feng shui has several schools with talented practitioners in each one of them, and it is helpful for an individual to know or ask about the basic differences between schools and choose the one that is preferred over the others.

If a person has gone thru all of these steps in order to find such a consultant and still has no luck, perhaps word of mouth may be the solution. Asking friends and family for references can be a great way to find the perfect one. If one has had a feng shui consultation, find out all the details such as how they work, fees, etc.

Most likely a good consultant of this chinese philosophy will have a website, pamphlet, or other material that can answer all the questions that a person may have.

If this is still not enough information, asking for references from the consultant is never a bad thing and the consultant should not be offended by the question.

When that perfect consultant of this chinese philosophy is found, life can be that much easier.

By doing through research, checking references, and making sure that clear expectations are set, a person can be assured that their lives in all aspects will be on the road to achieving as much harmony and balance that feng shui can offer.

The feng shui journey can be paved with gold if one has the right guide to accompany them.

Can Feng Shui Make Men Romantic?

Sphere: Related Content
When I told my husband I was going to practice yoga, he mistakenly thought the improved flexibility of my body would make my opinions more flexible.

When I told him I was going to have acupuncture, he didn't get the point - literally. John didn't believe inserting a needle between the two bones in my forearm would prevent nausea, but it does. I feel better on boats, on planes and when I listen to campaign promises.

Because the Chinese were right about acupuncture, I decided they must be right about feng shui; and I feng shui'd our house.

A bell by the front door leads luck in; a bell by the back door leads luck out. We didn't have a bell, so I moved the wind chimes to the front door. I thought that should work because wind chimes enhance luck.

Dried flowers are good for decoration; but because they're dead flowers, they're bad for feng shui. Out they went.

Out went the live plants in the bedroom because they create too much energy for sound sleep. Because live plants are good in rooms of sick people, I moved them into my husband's office. He wasn't sick, but he wasn't feeling good about feng shui.

Not wanting the good energy in the house to be bad for my marriage, I put a lot of feng shui in our bedroom.

Without the help of my doubting Thomas, I moved our bed. Sleeping with your feet facing the door is the death position. In my wedding vows I'd promised until death do us part, but I didn't want to be parted by our bed or have it turn into twin beds.

Because any suggestion of water in the bedroom promotes misunderstanding, the painting of the ocean went into the living room.

A mirror in the bedroom causes a third person to enter an otherwise good relationship. Even though my mother-in-law lives across the country, the mirror went into the entrance hall.

Then because pairs promote romance, I put a picture of John and me on both sides of the bed. I was hoping a pair of the pair of us would double the romance.

Actually, not using feng shui in our new house was what improved the romance. In our new house I left the feng shui to Mother Nature. Water provides good energy and I have the Pacific Ocean for a backyard.

The kitchen is the most important area of the home when it comes to promoting good health and prosperity. A kitchen with a good feng shui will bring good fortune and good health for the whole family.

One of the most important tips is to make sure that the kitchen is not visible from the main door. Imagine the house to be your body, the main entrance being your mouth and the kitchen your digestive system. The kitchen should be located deep within the house. It should be towards the back of your home, but not exactly at the back of the home, to prevent the good luck generated from escaping to easily.

The stove of the kitchen should be positioned in such a way that when a person is cooking, he or she is facing the dining or living room with her back against a wall. This is known as the “command position”.

All sharp objects and the kitchen utensils should be neatly tucked away out of sight in the cabinets, to keep the kitchen uncluttered and airy. Hanging pots and pans out into open is bad feng shui, as it promotes the accumulation of negative Chi. This is especially true when it comes to kitchen knives and other cutting instruments. Sharp objects emit a lot of shar-chi (killing energy), and are therefore best kept in drawers and cabinets.

Another great tip is to use your kitchen often. When you use your stove, wealth energy is created. So the more often you use your stove, the better. Traditional gas stoves are preferred over electronic stoves as they produce real flames. The element of the kitchen is fire. So the constant ignition of flames is beneficial to the sector.

The auspicious colors for a kitchen are reds, yellows and greens. Try to use these colors as much as possible to strengthen that element of fire in the kitchen for good luck!

5 Feng Shui Tips for the Bathroom

Sphere: Related Content

The bathroom may seem to be an insignificant part of the house, but there are many taboos in feng shui when it comes to the location of toilets. In ancient China, toilets are considered to be bad feng shui. If you look at ancient Chinese buildings, you will realize that the toilets are often located in a separate building away from the house.

In modern times however, an attached bathroom is considered a luxury, and most houses have at least two bathrooms or more. Here are five bathroom feng shui taboos to observe.

1. Never locate the bathroom in the Northwest of Southwest sectors of your home. The Northwest direction of your house represents the patriarch while the Southwest direction represents the matriarch. In the household, it is important to make sure that the farther and mother enjoy good feng shui as they provide for and support for the whole family. If you already have bathrooms in these areas, and relocating them isn't an option, at the very least try to relocate to toilet bowl so that it is not directly located in those sectors.

2. For many of us the toilet is a place to relax. It is also a sanctuary after a long day’s work. Having lavish decorations in the bathrooms if the common interior design trend today. One must be careful not to be overly ostentatious in decorating the bathroom. For example, it is inauspicious to decorate the bathroom with luxurious elements such as gold, crystals, diamonds, or anything that represents wealth and prosperity. The bathroom is where waste and water gets flushed away. An overly ostentatious bathroom represents wealth being flushed away.

3. Another important tip is to never place a bathroom directly above the main door. The main door is the most important part of the home and should be kept auspicious. Having a toilet directly above the main door (on the higher floor) ruins the feng shui of your home’s entrance. This is a major taboo when it comes to bathrooms. If your bathroom is located in such a manner, you must either relocate your bathroom or the main entrance. This configuration does not only bring bad luck, but also tragedies and misfortunes.

4. Today it is common for bedrooms to have an attached bathroom. In such a configuration, one must make sure that the bed and the toilet bowl to not share the same wall.

5. The most inauspicious part of the WC is the toilet (or more specifically the toilet bowl). The bathroom, where you have your shower or bath, can be big and spacious. The toilet should be as small and as discrete as you can manage. Preferably, the toilet should be located in a different room, separated by a door. This way, you can have the bath area as big as you want and have it decorated as ostentatiously as you want it to be.

Beat Stress With Feng Shui

Sphere: Related Content

For over 3,000 years Chinese people have turned to the ancient wisdom of Feng Shui to achieve greater harmony in their environment, and in themselves. Today we are bombarded by constant stress. How often do you wait anxiously in traffic, scroll through seemingly endless pages of email, leap at the sound of the cell phone? We are all bombarded by the daily demands of work and family, housekeeping and leisure. The pressure of bills and bosses can leave anyone's nerves feeling frayed, and all too often we have unfulfilled personal expectations for our lives on top of the stress of just getting through the day. The good news is, you can restore your energy, recharge yourself and release tension by utilizing Feng Shui to create a home that is a sanctuary.

The principles of Feng Shui can help you design an environment that creates and directs positive energy. You may not be aware of the ways your physical space is affecting your well-being. Feng Shui provides guidelines to help in identifying problems in your environment. If learning about Feng Shui sounds like one more project in an already busy life, consider that this is one project that will lighten your load, provide relief and enhance your energy, rather than drain your internal resources or tire you out. This makes feng shui a truly worthy use of your time.

If your energy and your efforts are blocked, if your environment is contributing to your sense of restriction because the Feng Shui is not in balance, your stress only worsens. Scientists have demonstrated the negative effects of stress on the body. The overproduction of stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline tax all of the systems in your body. These hormones contribute to the chronic conditions, like heart disease, that plague our society. And, excess stress wears down the immune system and leads to frequent colds and other aliments.

One of the keys to restoring energy and relieving stress is getting enough rest. Using Feng Shui to arrange your bedroom will help you get the sleep you need. Feng Shui will guide you in selecting the right room to sleep in, careful placement of your bed, eliminating mirrors in the bedroom, all of which will contribute to the quality of your rest and your waking energy.

Anxiety and stress trap and deplete energy. Feng Shui optimizes energy. An environment that employs proper Feng Shui principles contributes to harmony and well-being. The Chinese believe that Feng Shui helps create the conditions whereby you can thrive in your life and in your relationships. Feng Shui helps restore your energy because the objective of Feng Shui is to allow you to achieve harmony through your surroundings. You will learn how to place objects and arrange space so as to assist the flow of Chi energy. You will learn to leave negative energy at the door and fill your living space with good energy. With Feng Shui you can give yourself the positive pleasure of a harmonious, planned home environment designed to increase your well-being.

A Better Front Door With Feng Shui: Training, Taming Energy Flow

Sphere: Related Content
The front door of your home is not only the focal point of your house; it’s where you, your family, and visitors regularly enter and exit your home, making it a major outlet of incoming and outgoing energy. Known as the “mouth of chi,” the main door is where the home absorbs much of its energy nourishment. But sometimes the architectural design over the entrance of your home presents a challenge for the flow of energy, which is when it’s time to consult a feng shui practitioner or take some feng shui classes to learn ways to slow down the energy once it comes into the door, focusing it and redirecting it to the rest of the house. For example, if the staircase to the upstairs or basement is located very close to the entrance and the foyer is small, a feng shui cure can help you rework the flow of energy so it doesn’t come in the door and quickly rush upstairs or downstairs, leaving the ground floor of your home without energy nourishment.

To learn how to slow down, focus, and guide energy, you may consider checking out a few feng shui classes in your area, whether you are interested in feng shui certification or just the information. You’ll learn that strategically placed items can help you work with the small foyer space that you have to keep energy on the ground floor when it comes in the entrance. A large vase with flowers or a houseplant, art, a piece of furniture, or a mirror can accomplish this purpose, although if you do decide to use a mirror it shouldn’t face the entrance directly, as this will push energy away and out of the home instead of into the home.

A main entrance with a small foyer and a staircase facing the door is only one of the architectural designs that could benefit from a consultation from a professional with feng shui training. Feng shui cures are often specific to an individual space and its needs, so a feng shui consultant will be able to improve the flow of chi in your home and will have the knowledge to use more advanced aspects of feng shui. Determining the bagua (feng shui energy map) of your home, for example, will produce a host of feng shui cures like painting the walls certain colors and other tactics that will support the five elements of feng shui.

A front door with good feng shui can have a remarkable effect on your health, success, and relationships by providing you and your family with nourishing energy that sustains every aspect of your life.

Fengshui Sabotage

Sphere: Related Content

I have this friend who bought an industrial building to house her business. At that time, she know nothing about Fengshui and I was not acquainted to her then. She let a few key members of her management team of her business look after the renovation of the building then. Unfortunately little did she know that some of these key management team members are already secretly setting up a rival company to operate the same type of business as hers.

These scumbags wanted to sabotage her business before leaving by messing up the Fengshui of her building and business premises. They bluff her by hiring a bogus Fengshui master to give them all the wrong advice about the Fengshui of the premises. One of the glaring sabotage this bogus Fengshui master did is to advise my friend to renovate and locate the building such that the main entrance to the building is at the back of the building. This is akin to a human having his mouth at his back or his bum.

With this and other Fengshui boo-boos, it is no wonder she experienced difficulty in her business after moving into the building.

After the key management staff the company left to start their own company, someone suggested to my friend to re-look the fengshui of the building. She started to attend some Fengshui lessons, Ba Zi lessons and such. But it is too much too short time for her to absorb to apply on the fengshui of her business environment. Although in the meantime she realise the mistake of placing the entrance at the back of the building and re-locate the main door to the front of the building.

Thereafter, she attended this foreign-based master's talk and signed up for his Fengshui services. According to her one of key thing he did was to tilt the main door of the building to a certain degree by applying Fengshui formulas. Based on her testimonial, even after this major Fengshui remedy, problems still continue to plague her business.

Why does this happen? One of the major oversight of this master is to place precedence of formulas over landforms. Tilting the door is meaningless if the landforms does not support it. Without qi, enhancing a good direction is not of much use.
